Often, I feel I am not doing enough to help my child learn. I do realize that everything he does is a learning process for him but still...
I found an article on a support page http://www.preemiestoday.org/index.php that offers different, simply, situations that a parent can do to help their babies along.
Here I have listed the examples:
Change the texture of the cloth you put on your shoulder or that you rest the baby one (smooth, soft, or silky)
Have sheets and toys with lots of visual contrast (black and white)
Shake a rattle from different positions around the baby
Put a ribbon, colorful band, or bright socks on your baby’s hands or feet
Imitate your baby’s babbling sounds
Hold your baby in front of a mirror so they can see you and themselves
Welcome...
This site is for family, friends, and parents, of preemies looking for a connection with others
What About You?
Our wish is to find others dealing with the unexpected early delivery of their child. Perhaps you are family or friends that are willing to give advice or offer an ear. Just someone we can relate our experience to. Those that are willing to share their experience, offer comfort and give hope and offer advice. services.
Due to a severe case of pre-eclampsia, our baby was born at 32 weeks. Many hours were spend at the Royal Oak Beaumont. Fortunately, we were able to bring him home just after a month. We do realize that there are many that were not as fortunate. You are not alone, and with this blog, we hope to all connect. So please, if you are out there and can hear us, introduce yourself and tell us your story.
